"The idea that a work of art, no matter how reductive, will conjure up an association, be it to another artwork, to nature, or to private memories is precisely what HEDZ intends to do. I use contrasts of color to achieve these minimal ends. I intend to invite and seduce, to combat and repel. The paintings are open for the viewer to enter, to reflect and be reflected upon."
